New World vs Old World - France vs New World
France sets the bench mark for most wines, but some other countries are catching up fast, and even taken over. We will be exploring all the classic grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Shiraz, etc, and pitting the traditional French wine regions, against the best the New World has to offer.
This evening gives you the chance to taste some of the best wines from France and compare them to the best wines from the New World. New Zealand arguably makes the best Sauvignon Blanc - taste some against France Sauvignon Blanc, you decide. Burgundy sets the standard when it comes to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Here we put that to the test, with fine, wonderful wines from Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and California. We will compare wines from regions such as Bordeaux with equally excellent examples from around the New World.
France does set the bench mark with most wines. They make simply stunning wines, and the New World does the same. We will taste all the wines blind, so no prejudices allowed. Just choose the wine you like most - but which will it be?
All tasted with some matching food - come and enjoy...
